High School: Hunter was All-Sate his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. His sophomore season the team won the 4A State Championship. Hunter was named the Oxford Eagle Player of the Year his senior season. He was also named All-Division each of his high school seasons. Played for Richey Harrellson and Greg Lewis during his high school career.
Community College: Played for Kent Farris at Northeast Mississippi Community College for two seasons.
Blue Mountain College: Hunter had an outstanding season for the Toppers on the mound, becoming the closer early on and saved 7 games during the season and finished with a pitching record of 4-0. Also a starter in the field, Mize finished the season with a .333 batting average.
Personal: Full name is Hunter Steven Mize. Son of Joe and Michele Mize. Younger brother Tyler is currently a senior starter for Lafayette High School.
