High School: All-Division his junior and senior seasons at IAHS under Coach Brian Long. Participated in the State Games of Mississippi during his junior year of high school. Team MVP his senior season. Named to the NEMCABB ALL-STAR Game.
Community College: Played two seasons at Itawamba Community College under Rick Collier. Member of Indian’s State Championship team.
Blue Mountain College: SShared the catching duties last season. Had a good year at the plate. Great at handling the pitching staff. Great teammate and student.
Personal: Full name is Samuel Stone Summerford. Born January 5, 1990. Parents are Caroline Summerford and the late Larry Summerford. One brother, Bo Summerford and two sisters, Nicole Catt and Neely Barton. Business major. Named to the Transouth All-Academic Team last season.
