NEW ALBANY, Miss. – Game one of a Saturday two-game set here between Blue Mountain and Central Methodist went to the Eagles Saturday, 5-2.
Tyler Hull went six innings for Central Methodist, giving up a run on five hits and striking out two for the win on the hill.
Blue Mountain's Dustin Allen (JR/Panama City, FL) went five and two-thirds in the loss, surrendering three earned runs on seven hits, while striking out four.
DeAndre Smith had the big hit for the Eagles, when he banged out a two-run double in the top of the seventh, securing the win for CMU.

Blue Mountain finally solved the Eagle puzzle in the back-end game, winning 6-2 in a game where the Toppers banged out 11 hits.
The Toppers got a complete game win from David Torres (JR/Maracaibo, Venezuela) on the mound. Torres gave up one earned run on five hits and struck out eight Eagles.
"Our guys really battled today," BMC head coach Curt Fowler said. "I'm really proud of our effort. Both our starting pitchers pitched well. David had one of his best outings since he's been here. This series will really help us as we continue our season."
Blue Mountain goes to 6-3 on the season and next hosts Lyon College Tuesday at BNA Bank Park in New Albany, Miss. with a 2 p.m. start.
