LAKELAND, Tenn. – Blue Mountain College Baseball has announced the signing of NCAA Div. II Erskine College (S.C.) transfer Austin Looker.

The Bolton High School alum is a former four-time Tennessee All-District standout and signed out of high school to NCAA Div. I UT Martin.

The 5'11" 220-pound power-hitter would eventually sign with JUCO baseball powerhouse Dyersburg State (Tenn.).

Looker's 2017 season at EC was cut short due to a wrist fracture that left him playing in only 11 games where he batted .257, slugged .343, had an on-base percentage of .413 and drove in six runs.

"I am thankful for the coaching staff at Blue Mountain College for giving me an opportunity to transfer closer to home," Looker said.  "I'm excited and ready to play for a baseball program that is on the rise."

"Austin's a big-time hitter," BMC head coach Curt Fowler stated.  "He's been a prized-prospect for a lot of teams, so being able to sign him is a great statement for our program.  Of course, his 2017 numbers are deceiving due to the injury, but we, along with everyone else, know exactly what he'll be able to do at the plate."
