OXFORD, Ala. – A massive 21-team, division 2 event held here today saw the Blue Mountain College women's cross country team finish in 2nd place at the 12th Annual Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational 5K with a team time of 1:39:22.

Today's event saw Blue Mountain add perennial contender Elle Hamilton (SO/Shannon, Miss.) to the podium once again, while Emory College took home the team title with a time of 1:33:58.

Hamilton led BMC with a 9th place individual finish, ending with a time of 19:15, while Martha Chunn (SO/Blue Springs, Miss.) jumped into a 17th place finish with a time of 19:36.

Aubrey Johnson finished in 21st, timing out at 19:48, Catherine Snyder (SR/New Albany, Miss.) timed out at 19:55 with a 25th place finish and Alexis Pace (SO/Caledonia, Miss.) came in 46th with a time of 20:46.

Overall, 181 runners participated, with Emory's Gabrielle Stravach taking the crown at a time of 18:03.

"This was a great race with a number of great runners," BMC head coach Phillip Laney said.  "Some of the nation's best runners were here today, so a top ten finish for Elle is really impressive.  I was very pleased with how the entire team ran today, also."

The Lady Toppers have one more meet before the SSAC Conference Meet, the annual Choctaw Open in Clinton, Miss. on Oct. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
