Trey Humphreys enters his first season at Blue Mountain College as Head Men’s and Women’s Archery Coach. Coach Humphreys comes to Blue Mountain College from East Union Attendance Center where he coached the East Union High School archery team for eleven years. During his tenure as head archery coach at East Union High School, Coach Humphreys led the Urchins to several top finishes in area and state archery competitions. The East Union Archery Team under Humphreys’ leadership currently holds the record as four-time Union County Champions.
Humphreys graduated Valedictorian from East Union Attendance Center in 1988. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in math education from Mississippi State University in 1992 and a master’s degree in math education in 1997. Humphreys has been a National Board Certified Teacher since 1998. Humphreys taught at Quitman High School (1992-1994), Myrtle Attendance Center (1994-2003), and East Union Attendance Center (2003-present).
Humphreys' archery experience includes avidly bowhunting since the age of 14 and successfully bowhunting since the age of 19. He served as Archery Instructor at Central Hills Baptist Retreat from 1989-1991. Humphreys was a charter member and long-time officer of Mississippi Christian Bowhunters, a local chapter of Christian Bowhunters of America. Coach Humphreys was certified as a Basic Archery Instructor in 2005 and Basic Archery Instructor Trainer in 2007 through the National Archery in the Schools Program. Humphreys has served as the Archery In Mississippi Schools (AIMS) Area Director since 2010 and was named AIMS Instructor of the Year in 2012. Humphreys was certified as a United States Collegiate Archery (USCA) Instructor and USCA judge during the summer of 2017.
Humphreys is married to the former Pamela Allen of Baldwyn. They have two daughters, Janna (20) and Sallie (16) and one son Wyatt (8). The Humphreys attend Ellistown Baptist Church where Pam plays the piano and Trey serves as deacon.
