DCHS speedster signs with BMC

Scott Moore 006

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Scott Moore, an all-Chickasaw Conference outfielder for DeSoto Central High School, has signed a baseball scholarship with Blue Mountain College.

Moore, a three-year starter in both baseball and football for the Jaguars, hit more than .400 and stole more than 40 bases during his four years of baseball with the Jags. He committed only one error during his playing days at DCHS.

After earning all-conference honors his junior and senior seasons for the Jaguars, Moore played one year at Mississippi Delta Community College where he led the Trojans in stolen bases (18), playing mostly as a pinch-runner.

BMC coach Curt Fowler said Moore would play in the outfield and some shortstop for the Toppers when they begin their program this fall.

“Scott is a very solid ballplayer and we’re excited to having him join our program,” Fowler said. “His speed, both offensively and defensively, will be a huge asset for us.”
