Lady Toppers sign Bumpus
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Jessica Bumpus, a 4-year letter-winner at Middleton (Tenn.) High School, has signed a softball grant-in-aid with Blue Mountain College.
Bumpus, an outfielder and utility player, played two years at Jackson State Community College in Jackson, Tenn., after a standout prep career at Middleton that also included 4 letters in volleyball.
“Jessica is a great athlete and an outstanding leader,” BMC coach Kevin Barefield said. “Her experience at Jackson State and at Middleton will really benefit us.”
Bumpus was the female student athlete of the year at JSCC, where she hit .250 and had a grand slam home run. She was named to the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association all-scholastic team.
An honor student at Middleton, Bumpus was the team most valuable player her senior year and was named to the all-district tournament team twice.
