BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - Haylei Plummer, a two-time all-state infielder at Northwest Mississippi Community College, has signed a softball grant-in-aid with Blue Mountain College.
Playing mostly second base for the Lady Rangers, Plummer led the team in batting her two seasons - hitting .434 as a freshman and .435 as a sophomore. In her freshman year, Plummer had 3 home runs, 10 doubles and a triple, driving in 19 runs and scoring another 28. She had 3 triples and 8 doubles as a sophomore with 31 runs batted in and 38 runs scored.
"Besides being an outstanding infielder, both offensively and defensively, Haylei will bring a level of leadership to BMC that will make us a solid team," coach Kevin Barefield said. "She knows what it takes to win and her attitude is infectious."
Plummer, a native of Pope, Miss., was an all-state player on the two-time MSHAA 5A state champion South Panola team. In her senior season she hit .555 with 2 homers and 31 rbi.
