Robbins signs to play golf at BMC

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - Brandon Robbins, who helped lead Northeast Mississippi Community College to a second-place finish in the NJCAA Region 23 golf tournament, signed a grant-in-aid with Blue Mountain College.

"Brandon is an outstanding golfer who has continued to improve at each stage of the game," said BMC coach Danny McKenzie. "His most recent play in the Mississippi, regional and national community college tournaments is testament to his ability. He will be a major player for BMC when we get this program launched this fall."

Robbins, who played high school golf at Corinth and Booneville, recently finished third in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 tournament at Hinds Community College with 71-76-148 performance. He then competed in the NCJAA National Championships in Phoenix and posted an 82-80-78-77-317 total.

Prior to the regional tournament, Robbins finished seventh in the Mississippi state community college championships. He had a 76.36 scoring average going into the state and regional tournaments.

He also lettered as a freshman at NEMCC and finished 16th in the Region 23 tournament.

An all-state prep player at Corinth High and Booneville High, Robbins won the Class 3A state championship as a sophomore and was runner-up his freshman season. After moving to Booneville he finished second in the 3A state championships his junior and senior seasons. He earned all-state honors in 2006 and 2007.
