Bingham

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – Jermael Bingham, a two-year standout at Dyersburg State Community College from Selmer, Tenn., has signed a basketball scholarship with Blue Mountain College.

Bingham, a graduate of McNairy Central High, is BMC Coach J.D. Parker’s first signee for the 2011-12 season.

“Jermael is a really good athlete who plays at a very high level,” Parker said. “The experience he got at Dyersburg State will be very beneficial to us. We are excited Jermael has decided to join the BMC program.”

Bingham, a 6-foot-4 guard, averaged 10.8 points per game and 3.3 rebounds in 43 games during his two years at Dyersburg State, including a 12.3 scoring average last season. He hit on 46 percent of his field goals and 66.4 percent from the free-throw line.

As a senior at McNairy Central, Bingham averaged 14 points and five rebounds.
