Kevin Barefield accepted the position as Blue Mountain College Head Softball Coach in June of 2009. Kevin has also served as the Blue Mountain College IT Services Director since 2007.

Barefield is a former prep standout at Falkner High School and is an alumnus of Northeast Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University.  He has over 10 years of coaching experience in the region for public and private leagues in baseball, basketball, and softball. During this time of coaching he has compiled over .800 winning percentage.  He has also served as an umpire for the Mississippi High School Athletic Association in Girl's Softball.  Coach Barefield is an active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Kevin has been involved in youth activities with churches, schools and community-oriented events for over 13 years.  He currently serves as Youth Director at Unity Baptist Church.

"I am really thankful to God for the opportunity to coach and lead young ladies in our softball program here at Blue Mountain College.  I believe God has a very special purpose for this team and I hope that we would always honor Him on and off the field."

Kevin is a native of Ripley, Mississippi where he resides now with his wonderful wife, April, and one son, Bo.
